The National Navigation Company (NNC) owns and operates Egypt’s largest commercial fleet, forming the backbone of the country’s maritime transport. Established in 1981, the company has steadily expanded its fleet from 6 vessels in 1985 to 14 vessels today, including 13 modern bulk carriers and 1 container ship, with a total deadweight exceeding one million tons.

The fleet transports over 10 million tons of cargo annually, ensuring the secure flow of Egypt’s strategic imports, especially wheat.

NNC’s vessels range from 57,000 to 82,000 DWT, equipped with advanced technology to guarantee safety, efficiency, and environmental compliance.

Over the last 3 years since 2021, NNC has adopted an extensive expansion and renewal program, adding new modern, high-tech vessels with approximately 82,000 DWT, such as Wadi El Molouk and Wadi El Arish, and also contracted four Kamsarmax vessels, each of 82,000 DWT, scheduled for delivery in 2026 and 2028; This ambitious renewal strategy will modernize nearly 50% of the fleet, strengthening NNC’s competitive edge regionally and globally.
