The International Monorail Association (IMA) is a non-for profit Members Association whose mission is to organize the global mass transit monorail sector. Currently the association has 40 member companies - spread around the globe.

By developing performance specifications and guidelines for monorail systems used in public transportation, the association fosters the increasing application of monorails worldwide.

The aim is to provide a platform for knowledge and technical exchange between Public Authorities, the Monorail OEM Industry, the Monorail Operating and Maintenance Companies, Monorail Consulting Engineering Companies and Monorail System Builders, with the purpose to promote and drive forward the capabilities of modern monorail technology and establish monorail systems as an accepted solution for mass transit applications.

With the yearly ‘Monorailex’ IMA hosts the world’s leading conference on Monorail Systems.
